Well, the spring is on it’s way and thoughts of how to lower heat and energy bills are uppermost in many peoples minds. We have ordered an air-source heat pump which will be installed in April and so give us all summer to learn it’s foibles. If you are interested do look at the videos on in which real householders talk about their experience of installing an air-source heat pump. There is a new “Boiler Upgrade Scheme” launching in April 2022, up to 90,000 homes will benefit from renewable energy technology – all thanks to a new £450m fund.
How will the scheme work?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme will work on a “first-come, first-served basis,” with customers having to first to register their interest with heat pump installers.
Are you eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme?
You are eligible for a heat pump grant if you meet these criteria:
- You are a homeowner or small business owner
- Your property is in England or Wales
- Unless your building is custom-built or listed, you have been issued an energy performance certificate (EPC) in the past 10 years with no recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation, or you carry out any insulation recommendations before getting a heat pump installed.
Eastbourne installers OHM Energy can tell you more about it.
